Cherre Mongiovi
I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, trained at the Yoga Center Retreat in St. Louis Park, MN and have been a yoga practitioner for over 24 years. I am early in my teaching journey and eager to bring a beginner-friendly approach to yoga, inspired by my own years of practice and love of helping others build confidence and understanding to their own bodies on the mat. I believe that yoga is for all bodies, and that there is a beautiful place where we can discover where yoga can meet us where we are at any moment of our lives.

My Story
I strive to create an inclusive, gentle and supportive environment where we can find balance in ourselves through movement, grounding and meditation. My classes are designed with accessible sequencing in both Hatha and Restorative practices to build foundational poses and allow for nervous system recovery.
I offer studio group classes at Light of the Soul, Inc Studio in Falcon Heights, MN. I also offer small group and individual sessions for a more catered experience to address personal goals or specific needs. The small group and individual sessions are available both in my home studio and I am available to travel locally in the Twin Cities metro area.
Yoga has been a cornerstone in my life for many years. I began practicing when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and my blood sugar would rise quite quickly after eating and if I didn’t get some movement in, I would instantly fall asleep. That was not ideal with two other children at home, including a very active 2 year-old. So, for the hour after eating I would do yoga along with a DVD guided by a beautiful woman, dressed all in white. It made me feel great. It made me feel empowered like no other movement or exercise had before. I loved it so much, I continued post-partum, doing Mommy and Baby yoga. As my life went on, yoga stayed with me. It flexed with my body changes due to weight fluctuations, aging, and other various ailments. Through those changes I realized even more how adaptable yoga is no matter where we are on our physical or even mental journeys. I love bringing that aspect of yoga to my friends, family and now students.
Off the mat I like to spend my time laughing with my adult children, family and friends. I enjoy a good movie surrounded by my dog and three cats. I love to play the MMoRPG game, World of Warcraft, with my husband and a team of very good friends. I relish meditation alongside any respectable body of water to soak up sunshine and energy. And I absolutely delight in giving leaves on trees a high-five on a run.
I am really looking forward to growing with our new community here and to share my passion with you all.
Namaste
